HHS Wrestling Results
For the first time since 2014, the T-Wolves had multiple state placers at Mat Classic XXXII as 160 Alex Newberry (12) took 4th & 113 Israel Gonzalez (10) took 5th at state! For Alex it was a great way to end his high school career with his first state medal! It was the first time we had two state semi-finalists since 2010 and because both advanced so far and finished so strong, as a team we finished 20th out of the 52 4A teams who were represented! Great end to a memorable season for the T-Wolves!
T-Wolves Wrestler of the Week for 2/10-2/15/20: Israel Gonzalez (10)- Israel responded to a tough semi-final loss (including a controversial call that cost him the match) at the Regional tournament like a champ by pinning his next opponent to secure his 2nd trip to state in two tries and then winning by major decision in his 3rd place match, 9-1! Israel works really hard in the classroom as well with a 3.74 cumulative GPA despite a challenging schedule with AP & Honors classes!
